What is Rainbow Islands?

Rainbow Islands is the sequel to Bubble Bobble. Like its predecessor, it is seriously cute and dangerously addictive although it is lesser known. It was released in 1988, 2 years after Bubble Bobble.

There are a number of Islands, each comprising four stages. Each Island has a particular theme. You have to defeat all the monsters to save the people of the Islands... with a few secret tricks along the way!

This page is about the original Arcade version of the game. There are quite a few differences between it and the PC and various console versions of the game.
